Pollution Level Has Gone Down In The National Capital As The AQI Is Just 129 Which Is Good News
Delhi NCR saw some 'moderate' air quality with the AQI at 129. It is expected to improve.
Delhi NCR saw some 'moderate' air quality with the AQI at 129. It is expected to improve.
The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting (SAFAR) stated that marginal deterioration is the forecast for Thursday but in 'moderate' category.
Slight improvement in the AQI is expecting on Friday," the SAFAR said according to IANS.
The minimum recorded at 16.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday which is pretty normal.
"The maximum temperature during the day is likely to hover around 29 degrees Celsius," said the India Meteorological Department.
The better AQI is no doubt due to the lack of vehicles on the roads as many are working from home because of the coronavirus outbreak.
The city is almost in lockdown as most people are staying indoors. Schools, colleges, restuarants, malls, cinema halls and many other places are shut till March 31.
But as a result of the restrictions, people are polluting less and particularly in Delhi were smog made the winter unbearable last year, this is a good sign.
A moderate AQI is good news for those residing in the capital. Let's hope we can keep it under control. After all, this is the air we breathe and polluting it harms us in the end.
Delhi has more visibility and compared to the days when the AQI was over 900, this is absolute gold.
