Post Pulwama Terror Attack, 10,000 Troops Airlifted To Srinagar Amid Crackdown In J&K
The Centre has dispatched hundred additional companies of paramilitary forces to the state amid a massive crackdown on separatists in Jammu and Kashmir. The fresh deployment of 100 paramilitary companies include 45 from CRPF or Central Reserve Police Force 35 from BSF or Border Security Force and 10 companies each of the Sashastra Seema Bal and Indo-Tibetan Border Police ITBP.
The Centre has dispatched hundred additional companies of paramilitary forces to the state amid a massive crackdown on separatists in Jammu and Kashmir. On Friday, separatist Yasin Malik was arrested by the forces.
After a notice was sent by Home Ministry in New Delhi Friday evening, 100 additional companies of paramilitary soldiers were airlifted to Srinagar, where the Jammu and Kashmir police and existing security forces worked through the night rolling out their deployment plan for the next few days.
A company of soldiers typically consists of between 80 to 100 soldiers, depending upon the kind of paramilitary. Going by the last night¡¯s order by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the 100 companies would see around 10,000 soldiers airlifted to Srinagar.

After the deadly Pulwama Attack that took place on February 14 and killed over 40 CRPF personnel, there has been a considerable build-up of security forces across Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed or JeM released photographs and a video after the terror attack claiming full responsibility for it. Adil Ahmad Dar, a local Kashmiri, has been identified as the suicide bomber.

The situation has been tense across the valley ever since. Yasin Malik's arrest comes ahead of a crucial hearing on Article 35-A in Supreme Court, which is likely to take place on Monday, February 25. The article grants special rights and privileges to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
