Police in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh has shot dead the alleged mastermind of the triple murder last month. The accused, identified as Dilip Dewal, a resident of Dahod in Gujarat was shot dead by the police during an encounter in Khachrod Naka in Ujjain district on Thursday night.

Five policemen were also injured during the fire exchange.
"Accused was shot at during retaliatory firing by policemen, he has declared brought dead at the hospital. Five policemen have been injured during the encounter," said Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Sushant Saxena.
The 38-year-old, who is described by the police as a "psychopathic killer" was accused of killing Govind Solanki his wife Sharda, and daughter Divya on the night of November 25.
The accused had shot the trio from close range, but the sound of the bullets got muffled by the firecrackers that were being burst for Diwali celebrations.
Earlier, the cops had arrested four of Dewal's associates who were involved in the crime.
According to the police, the accused had murdered the family during a robbery attempt.
While the four accused were arrested, Dewal managed to flee and was on the run.
After the triple-murder case that shook the entire Ratlam town, police have announced a reward of Rs 30,000 for sharing information about Deval¡¯s whereabouts.
According to police, this was the fourth murder committed by Dewal in Ratlam.
He was accused of killing a woman in June.
He had also committed two murders in his hometown Dahod.
Though he was awarded life imprisonment in one of the murders in Dahod he jumped parole two years back and had been living in Ratlam ever since.
