Twitterati shares their experiences
Netizens couldn't agree more with her. Some users shared the questions they have been asked too. Take a look,
As an unmarried guy I had the same problem, a bunch of them would rather lend to single girl over single guy. I convinced my landlord I am actively looking to get settled, a precondition in my state is groom should have a house ?... Stayed there for five years.

Recently my friend too faced a similar screening. First, the owner asked her name, when he couldn't identify her religion , he asked her full name. Isse bhi baat nahi bani to he asked the names of her in-laws. My friend directly told him she is Muslim. Baat khatam.

I rented my house to a female colleague once and society made me sign an understaking for good behaviour. It¡¯s beyond ridiculous esp considering most of the ruckus from ¡°family¡± tenants

The broker showing me houses in South Delhi a) asked me to dress decently and b) said "great strategy" when I brought my mum along to look at houses once

Some even gave their own suggestions to tackle the situation.
Tell them that you are married to a Muslim. Then they¡¯d wish that you were single.

Meanwhile, as the land in the national capital is a central subject, the Union Government has to enact the law and repeal the existing legislature, the Delhi Rent Control Act of 1958. The aim of the government is no different when it comes to the nation¡¯s capital and the new Act is going to be aligned with the Model Act that the Centre approved earlier this year.
