A total of nine people including three Kashmiri students have been arrested in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan for celebrating Pakistan's victory against India in the T-20 World Cup match.
Out of the nine arrests eight were made in Uttar Pradesh.
Niaz, a resident of Faizganj Behta area, of Badaun district was arrested on a complaint filed against him by Punit Shakya of Hindu Jagran Manch.
In his complaint, Shakya said Niaz had allegedly posted the picture of the Pakistani flag and wrote comments in support of Pakistan on Facebook after the match.

Budaun Senior Superintendent of Police OP Singh said Niaz posted a picture of Pakistan's flag on his Facebook account and captioned, "I love you Pakistan, I miss you Pakistan, Jeet Mubarak Pakistan".
Niaz was booked for sedition and under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act on Tuesday and sent to jail on Wednesday, the SSP said.
Five such cases have been registered in Agra, Bareilly, Budaun and Sitapur against seven people for allegedly using indecent language against the Indian cricket team.
Three engineering students at Raja Balwant Singh Engineering Technical College in Agra, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, were arrested on Wednesday for posting celebratory messages on their WhatsApp status.

Agra Circle Officer (Lohamandi) Saurabh Singh said the three students, identified as Arshad Yusuf, Inayat Altaf Sheikh and Shaukat Ahmed Ganai, were arrested late on Wednesday evening.
"They will be presented before a Magistrate today," said the officer. The three students were booked after a BJP youth wing leader Gaurav Rajawat lodged a complaint against them for allegedly "shouting pro-Pakistan slogans and sharing posts related to it on social media" after India's loss.
The students have been suspended from the hostel as well as the institute.
According to the notice issued by the dean of the hostels, Dr Dushyant Singh, the students were found to be involved in 'indiscipline' by 'posting status in favour of Pakistan' after the match on October 24.
"Therefore, the hostel discipline committee has decided to suspend all three of them with immediate effect," a statement from the college said.
On Thursday Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said sedition cases will be filed against those celebrating Pakistan's win.
A private school teacher in Rajasthan's Udaipur was arrested on Wednesday, a day after she was sacked by the school management for allegedly posting a WhatsApp status celebrating Pakistan's victory.
On Saturday, a group of Kashmiris studying at an engineering institute in Punjab's Sangrur district was injured after some students from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar allegedly attacked them following the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan.
