Two Boats With Over 100 Passengers Collide In Brahmaputra River, Several Feared Drowned
Two passenger boats collided with each other and one capsized in the Brahmaputra river in Assams. Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sharma confirmed the incident and directed Majuli and Jorhat administration to carry out swift rescue operations. According to reports 70 people are still missing and 50 have been rescued.
Several people went missing after two passenger boats collided with each other, and one capsized, in the Brahmaputra river in Assam's Jorhat.

The incident took place near Neamatighat in Jorhat district.
"One death has been confirmed in the boat accident at Neamatighat in Jorhat. Rescue operation is underway," said Jorhat SP Ankur Jain.
While a few people managed to swim to safety, some passengers are still feared missing.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are carrying out rescue operations to trace the missing passengers.
According to reports, 70 people are still missing and 50 have been rescued.
Sarma expressed pain over the tragic incident and said that he will visit Neematighat on Thursday.
