UP Woman Clings To Moving Car's Door While Driver Holds Her Back, Viral Video Prompts Police Response
A viral video capturing a woman clinging to the side door of a moving car, while someone inside the vehicle appears to hold her back, has prompted an investigation by the Lucknow police.
In a video that rapidly gained traction across various social media platforms, viewers were captivated by an unusual and startling event: a woman was recorded clinging to the door of a vehicle as it moved.
The car, registered in Uttar Pradesh, was notable for its moving human attachment and the prominently displayed "advocate" label. In the video, the driver can be observed maintaining a grip on the woman, who is balanced perilously on the vehicle's sidestep.
Video shared by journalist goes viral
Journalist Vivek Tripathi took to 'X' to share the footage, spotlighting the incident that unfolded near the Phoenix Palassio Mall in Lucknow.
While highlighting the occurrence, Tripathi's post called for the intervention of the Lucknow Police, casting a veil of uncertainty over whether the act was a deliberate road stunt or a distressing scenario compromising the woman's safety.

The footage itself was captured by an onlooker, who critiqued the act as both unusual and a menace to road safety norms.
Netizens show concern with a tinge of humour
The video stirred a flurry of public commentary. One respondent cheekily inquired if Tripathi was familiar with the concept of a pre-wedding shoot, suggesting a possible explanation for the spectacle.
Another comment lamented the flouting of traffic regulations, expressing dismay at the blatant disregard shown by the occupants of the vehicle: "Where have the traffic rules gone here? Now who will stop them, put the level of law, they are the ones who are breaking the law in the car, it is unfortunate for my India, they are abandoning such people, it is like a small send-off, if strict action is not taken against them, I don't know."
Further attention was drawn to the negligence regarding safety by the person filming the incident, as the video's background audibly contained a seat belt warning.
A viewer pointed out, "Seat belt warning to apki car me b aa rhi h. Tripathi ji belt laga lo (You're getting a seat belt warning in your car. Tripathi ji, please buckle up)." Echoing this sentiment, another urged, "Pahile to sir ji aap apna seat belt lgaye please (First, sir, please fasten your seat belt)."
In response to the uproar and the concerning nature of the event, the Lucknow Police issued a statement indicating that actions were being pursued: "A case has been registered at Sushant Golf City police station in relation to the case, advance legal action is being taken."
This development marks the official reaction to a scenario that blurs the lines between potentially dangerous behaviour and an audacious public display.
