Gurugram-based budget airline SpiceJet is not in the best of financial positions, to put it mildly. Due to lingering financial woes, the Ajay Singh-owned airline has failed to pay salaries to its employees on time.
Employees seem to have had enough and at least one of them has taken matters into his own hands in a rather unique way.
Spicejet employees not getting paid
A video has surfaced on social media showing an unidentified SpiceJet employee going about his life, but also telling that world how it is going.
In the video, the man can be seen taking a ride on a crowded metro with a SpiceJet-branded suitcase and a placard saying, "SpiceJet spoiled my mental health."

Spicejet not depositing PF
Earlier, on July 31, Shukla had posted another video on X, in which a SpiceJet employee was seen ranting about how he was not getting paid and how the company was not depositing the amount deducted as PF into the EPFO. The video was reportedly made by the employee sitting in the SpiceJet office and posted on Instagram.

No PF contribution since January 2022
According to reports, SpiceJet has not deposited the Employee Provident Fund contributions for its 11,581 staff members since January 2022.
Last week, it was reported that SpiceJet had failed to pay the June salaries of its nearly 8,000 employees. The airline, in a statement, told The Economic Times that "Salaries for the month of June are being disbursed in a phased manner. To date, 95% of our employees have received their June salaries."

SpiceJet forced to cancel flights from Dubai
The airline has been battling an increasingly worsening financial crisis, including its mounting debts to aircraft lessors.
On Wednesday, hundreds of SpiceJet passengers were stranded at Dubai airport after some 10 flights to various Indian cities were canceled due to non-payment of dues by the airline to the Dubai airport authorities.
