Delhi woman dragged 4kms on the road
The incident comes to light a day after a woman was killed in Delhi after the two-wheeler she was travelling on was hit by a car and she was dragged by the vehicle for more than four kilometres.
It is believed that the woman's clothes or a body part got stuck under the vehicle and the five men in the car, unaware of this, drove it dragging the body along.
The police said that they have arrested five persons, who were in the car. They were identified as Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishan, Mitthu and Manoj Mittal.
CCTV visuals of the incident showed the silver coloured car, Maruti Baleno making a U-turn in the Kanjhawala area and the body of the woman is visible under the vehicle on the left side.
Rarest of rare cases: Delhi CM
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday called the incident a "rarest of rare" crime and urged Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to take "exemplary action'' against the accused.
"It is a rarest of rare crime. I don't know where society is heading. I have learnt that the postmortem is underway, " he told reporters at a ceremony to flag off 50 electric buses.
Calling it an "extremely shameful" incident, he said, "I appeal that the accused, despite whatever influence they might hold, be given the strictest punishment."
