The interesting part about the bridge is the steel which is being used in its construction. The steel is blast proof and it is being prepared to withstand any kind of attack. Nearly, 500 locals have been employed in this category through the project and is expected to boost tourism and development in the valley.

The Chenab bridge is being constructed between Bakkal and Kauri in the Resai district. The authorities had to face many challenges during its construction, for instance ensuring that the bridge is constructed without hampering the flow of water. In addition to this, approach roads were also built to reach the foundations of the bridge.
The arch length is 480 m and the Chenab bridge forms a crucial link in 111 km stretch between Katra and Banihal. People will also get better transportation facilities to travel in and around the mountainous regions once the bridge is ready.
