Reports suggest that the school and the medical college will have a built-up area of around 1 million square feet.
Phase one of the project is estimated to complete in the next three to five years. Phase II will tentatively be completed in the next 7-10 years.
IIT Kanpur was established in 1959. The authorities have been raising funds for this ambitious project which entails a cost of ?600 crores.
