Argentina celebrated on the pitch and continued in the dressing room and goalkeeper Martinez did not let the opportunity to mock Mbappe. In a video shared by Nicolas Otamendi, he is heard asking for a minute's silence for Mbappe and the Argentine players to stop their chorus for some seconds.
Ahead of the final, Martinez was angry at Mbappe due to his recent comments on South American footballers. Martinez said that Mbappe does not enough about football when the latter said European football is more advanced than South American.
"The advantage we have in Europe is that we play among ourselves with high-level matches all the time, such as the Nations League, for example. When we arrive at the World Cup, we are ready, where Brazil and Argentina do not have this level in South America. Football is not as advanced as in Europe. That¡¯s why at the last World Cups, it¡¯s always the Europeans who win," Mbappe said some months ago.

¡°He doesn't know enough about football. He never played in South America. When you don¡¯t have this experience, it may be better not to talk about it. But it doesn't matter. We are a great team, recognised as such," Martinez said a day before the final.
