Sunrisers Hyderabad is the only team to clinch the trophy after playing the elimination game. In 2016, SRH embarked on a remarkable journey, starting with a hard-fought victory against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator.

David Warner's leadership and a crucial captain's knock were pivotal, supported by exceptional performances from bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mustafizur Rahman. In Qualifier 2, SRH triumphed over Gujarat Lions, thanks to an explosive innings by Warner and a decisive spell from Rashid Khan.

Despite RCB setting a daunting target, SRH's batting unit, led by Warner and bolstered by Yuvraj Singh and Ben Cutting, set a competitive total. This triumph marked SRH's first IPL title, showcasing their resilience and team effort.

According to Rule 13.7.3 in the IPL 2024 Match Playing Conditions, an extra 120 minutes are available to finish a match due to rain delays. This rule applied even to league-stage matches. For playoffs, a Reserve Day option is available, meaning there will be an additional day to complete the Eliminator between RCB and RR.

"For the play-off matches, in addition to the extra time referred to above, there may be reserve days (on which an incomplete play-off match shall be completed)."

Unlike previous IPL editions, there's a Reserve Day in place for all playoffs matches this season, including the final on May 26. On the reserve day, the match will be played from the start. However, if no play is possible even after using the Reserve Day and no Super Over can be conducted, the team that finished higher in the league stage will advance. Therefore, if the Eliminator gets entirely washed out, Rajasthan Royals will have the advantage.
