The English all-rounder Sam Curran was the most expensive player in the auction bought by Punjab Kings for Rs. 18.50 crores followed by Cameron Green at 17.5 crores bought by Mumbai Indians, Ben Stokes at Rs. 16.25 crores bought by Chennai Super Kings, Nicholas Pooran at Rs. 16 crores bought by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Harry Brook at Rs. 13.25 crores bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad among other top buys of IPL 2023 auction.

As compared with the previous season, there are expected to be more games will be played in IPL 2023, which would be played in a double-round style at across the country unlike the last season, when all games were played in Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) started the Indian Premier League in 2007. Since then the tournament played every year between March and May. In 2022, the number of IPL teams increased from 8 to 10. In IPL 2023 total of 74 matches will be played. Like last year this year again IPL 2023 will be called Tata IPL 2023 as the Tata Group is the title sponsor of IPL since 2022.
