'Has become a Pakistani now': Netizens troll MS Dhoni over claims that he broke TV after losing match to RCB
A journalist claimed MS Dhoni broke a TV in anger after CSK's IPL 2024 loss to RCB, sparking online trolling. The rumor, reportedly shared by Harbhajan Singh, suggested Dhoni didn't shake hands with RCB players. While fans debated the truth, many dismissed it as a baseless rumor. Dhoni's team was knocked out as RCB secured a playoff spot in the match.
An explosive claim by an Indian journalist has stirred up social media, alleging that former India captain and IPL icon MS Dhoni smashed a television set in frustration after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their final league match of IPL 2024. The match, held on May 18 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, saw CSK eliminated from the tournament as RCB secured their place in the playoffs.
The journalist, speaking on a sports show called Sports Yaari, hinted at Dhoni's apparent anger following the defeat. The loss saw RCB qualify for the playoffs, while CSK¡¯s hopes were dashed. Soon after, unverified reports began circulating online that Dhoni did not shake hands with RCB players after the game, fueling further speculation. Now, fresh claims that Dhoni broke a TV in anger have gone viral. The journalist stated that this information came from former cricketer Harbhajan Singh.

In a widely shared video, the journalist can be heard saying on Sports Yaari:
"I have come to know about an exclusive scoop. I asked Bhajji [Harbhajan] paaji why Dhoni did not shake hands [with RCB players]. He said that not only did he not shake hands, he also broke a TV. He also punched something on the way back. He was very angry on missing [his stroke]."
'Dhoni has become a Pakistani now'
The viral video quickly made its way to Reddit, particularly on the r/ipl subreddit, where fans debated the credibility of the story.
"Lost me at 'Maine bhajji pa se pucha'," one user commented, casting doubt on the reliability of the source.
"Bhajji pa as your source ?," another user quipped sarcastically.
"Source is the ever salty Harbhajan?? trust me bro. This Sushant¡¯s source is 100% real? I want to laugh at those who are accepting this clown¡¯s statement as true?," another user added, mocking the claim.

However, while some fans dismissed the story, others latched onto the rumors and used the opportunity to troll Dhoni.
"Bro getting frustrated as if it was an IPL final," one user commented, poking fun at the reported anger.
"Dhoni has become a Pakistani now," another user wrote, taking a dig at the former Indian captain.
Defending Dhoni, another fan added, "Another attempt by clowns to stay relevant. I've seen MSD calm after losing a final by just a run, and trust me, this RCB match wasn¡¯t as heartbreaking as that 2019 final."
How CSK lost the crucial match against RCB
In a high-stakes encounter at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs. Set a challenging target of 219, CSK needed to reach 201 to secure a spot in the playoffs.
However, they fell short, managing only 191-7 in their 20 overs. Dhoni played a vital role in CSK's chase, scoring 25 off 13 balls, but he was dismissed by RCB pacer Yash Dayal in the final over.
CSK required 17 runs from the last over to qualify for the playoffs. Dhoni started with a massive six off a low full-toss, but Dayal made a quick comeback, dismissing Dhoni on the very next delivery with a slower ball.
Dhoni was caught at deep backward square leg, and the RCB bowler did not allow any further boundaries, sealing the win for RCB and securing their playoff spot.
Dhoni's performance in IPL 2024
At the start of IPL 2024, Dhoni handed over the captaincy of CSK to Ruturaj Gaikwad, choosing to focus on his role as a keeper-batter in the lower order. Despite his limited role, the 43-year-old legend contributed 161 runs during the tournament at an impressive strike rate of 220.55.
His tally included 14 fours and 13 sixes, demonstrating his ability to make an impact even towards the end of his career.

With the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reinstating a rule that allows capped Indian players to be considered uncapped if they have not played international cricket in the last five years, CSK now has the option to retain Dhoni as an uncapped player if they wish to do so in the next IPL season.
