In a heartening move, Ravindra Jadeja recently extended a heartfelt tribute to his late mother by sharing a sketch on Instagram. The moving piece of art shows Jadeja standing alongside his mother, holding the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy with a sense of pride.

Jadeja lost his mother to death in 2005, a time when the maverick all-rounder was just 17 and starting his career with India¡¯s under-19 team. Elaborating on his mother¡¯s significant influence, Jadeja wrote, ¡°Whatever I¡¯m doing on the field, it¡¯s a tribute to you,¡± in his Instagram post. The tribute resonated deeply with fans, garnering an impressive 1,089,396 likes.

T20 WC win and Jadeja's retirement
In a surprising turn, Jadeja announced his retirement from T20 Internationals just a day after India¡¯s T20 World Cup triumph over South Africa at Barbados.

Making his gratitude public, Jadeja wrote on social media, ¡°With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I¡¯ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats. Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 International career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support.¡±
Jadeja played 74 matches in his T20I career, which began in 2009 and spanned till the final fixture of the T20 World Cup 2024.
In T20Is, he amassed 515 runs, scoring at an average of 21.45, with a highest score of 46 not out.

As a regular spin bowler, he took 54 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 7.13.
