Reflecting on their victory, Kohli remarked, "Absolutely amazing. When they won, we were all watching it and at that point you realise the sense of the fanbase in its absolute purest form."
RCB gets rebranded with new name and jersey
In a significant development at the RCB Unbox event, Royal Challengers Bangalore officially rebranded itself as Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The event witnessed the presence of both the men¡¯s and women¡¯s teams, and the new jersey for the upcoming IPL season was unveiled. The fresh attire will feature a blend of blue and red, departing from the traditional red and black shirts.
Kohli, who returned to India after the birth of his second child, was seen preparing for the upcoming season at the Chinnaswamy Stadium alongside current RCB skipper Faf du Plessis.
RCB, perennial contenders who have yet to clinch the IPL title, will commence their campaign against the Chennai Super Kings, the reigning champions, in Chennai on Friday.
With the IPL preceding the T20 World Cup in the USA and Caribbean, Kohli's performance in the lucrative T20 league will be closely monitored.
The 17th season of the Indian Premier League 2024 will kick off on March 22 with a highly anticipated encounter between MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings and Faf Du Plessis' Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
While the schedule for the first 15 days has been announced, the remaining fixtures will be disclosed once the dates for the general elections are finalized.
