Fast-food chain Dairy Queen celebrates Justin Trudeau's resignation by offering special $2 burgers
As Canada gets used to the post-Trudeau era, a fast-food chain is offering a special discount to 'celebrate' his resignation. Images have gone viral on social media showing Dairy Queen Grill & Chill offering a Trudeau resignation special: $2 burgers.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation from the post on Monday, with nearly ten months still left for his term in office to come to an end. The Liberal Party leader, once one of the most popular leaders in the world, has seen his popularity nosedive domestically in recent years, mainly due to his immigration and economic policies.

Justin Trudeau's resignation
But the mood on the streets of Canada seems to be one of relief, and many felt that Trudeau should have left office long ago.
The 57-year-old Trudeau, who assumed office in November 2015, announced his resignation Monday, saying he would leave office as soon as his party chooses a new leader.
"I intend to resign as party leader, as prime minister, after the party selects its next leader," Trudeau said.
He also admitted that he was not the best candidate to lead the party into the elections.
"This country deserves a real choice in the next election, and it has become clear to me that if I'm having to fight internal battles, I cannot be the best option in that election," he said.
