Former Afghanistan president Hamid Karzai has asked both government forces and Taliban to protect the people as the Taliban is set to take power in the country. Karzai who served as president from 2001 to 2014 requested the individuals to remain in their houses and stay calm.
Appearing on a video, former Afghanistan president Hamid Karzai has asked both, government forces, and Taliban, to protect the people as the Taliban is set to take power in the country.
¡°I am here in Kabul with my girls and I ask the Taliban to provide security and safety for the people,¡± he said in a video message in which his three daughters are seen.
Karzai, who served as president from 2001 to 2014, requested the individuals to remain in their houses and stay calm.

He added that he and political leaders will work towards resolving the problems peacefully.
After capturing major provinces across the country, extremist militia Taliban captured the national capital Kabul on August 15. Dramatic images of Talibanis inside the presidential palace were widely shared.
