Sharp pain in private area
Michael Farchi from California, a resident of Agora Hills, was on a holiday in Las Vegas and was staying at a luxury resort.
On December 26, during the holiday, he woke up with a sharp pain in his private area.
In an interview with Los Angeles news station KABC on Monday, he stated that he didn't know what it was.

Describing the sensation, he said he felt like somebody stabbing him in his private area, comparing it to the feeling of a sharp glass or a knife.
Reaching his hand to see what was happening under the covers, he experienced another sharp pain.
When speaking to another channel, he mentioned that he went to the restroom and saw a scorpion hanging on his underwear.
Medical report filed
Farchi subsequently filed a medical report with the hotel, stating that he had been bitten by a scorpion in his groin/testicles.
He described the injury as causing "a lot of pain."
Following this incident, he and his family checked out from the hotel the next day, and the hotel covered the cost of his room.
He has initiated legal proceedings against the resort, seeking an unspecified amount. Conversely, the hotel contends that it adhered to all established protocols regarding the incident.

According to Cleveland Clinic, scorpion stings could be painful but are mostly harmless.
Further, there is no medical treatment for a sting and it can typically be treated at home with the help of ice, pain medication and antihistamines.
Michael Farchi's unfortunate encounter with a scorpion on his private parts, though rare, highlights the importance of vigilance in unfamiliar environments.
