A 20-year-old Malaysian man was got a shock when he found a series of monkey selfies on his mobile phone. It had been stolen while he was asleep, as per a TNN report.
Zackrydz Rodzi, a student from Batu Pahat, went to sleep on September 11 with his phone next to his bed. However, when he woke up in the morning, it was not there.
He checked his house for signs of robbery. Since nothing else was missing, he was left baffled. "The only thing on my mind was is it some kind of sorcery," he told BBC.
Rodzi eventually tracked the phone to a jungle behind his house. His father kept on calling the phone until it was discovered under a palm tree.
His uncle joked that he might find the thief's picture on the phone and when he checked the gallery after cleaning the phone, "boom, it's full of monkey photos".
The student then showed the pictures to his friends and family who "couldn't believe it". He posted a video and some pictures online. While most of the images are grainy, blurry and out of focus, others show leaves and tree branches.
Some of the pictures show the monkey's face. In one of the videos captured on the phone, the monkey appears to try to eat the phone.
"Something that you might see once in a century," Rodzi tweeted.
The family suspects that the monkey entered the house through a window and took the phone while leaving.
