The spacecraft made its eighth fly-by of Jupiter on Oct. 24, captured images of the planet, and then sent that data back to NASA on Oct. 31. The orbiter's primary scientific mission is to study Jupiter¡¯s magnetic field, composition and gravity field.
The orbiter also passed directly over Jupiter¡¯s Great Red Spot, the 16,000km-wide storm on the face of the gas giant making it a first for humanity to explore the storm feature.
