Terrified Toddler Finds 'Monsters' In Bedroom; Beekeeper Uncovers 60,000 Bees Instead
The beekeeper, affectionately dubbed the "monster hunter" by the relieved child, was astounded by the extent of the hive, which extended deeper into the wall than he had ever encountered.
When 3-year-old Saylor Class started complaining about monsters lurking in her bedroom, her parents brushed it off as an innocent product of her imagination. Little did they know, her fears were grounded in reality. According to a report by BBC, the perspective of Saylor's parents took a sharp turn when a beekeeper made a startling discovery above the girl's bedroom¡ªa thriving colony of tens of thousands of honeybees. Saylor had been expressing her concerns about "monsters in the wall" of their farmhouse in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Initially, Saylor's mother, Ashley Massis Class, and her husband didn't pay much heed to her fears, attributing them to the recent viewing of Pixar's movie, Monsters, Inc.
"We even gave her a bottle of water and said it was monster spray so that she could spray away any of the monsters at night," Massis Class, a home designer, told the BBC.
But Saylor's persistent complaints about noises in her closet prompted her mother to investigate further. She noticed bees congregating in groups in their attic and chimney, realizing that Saylor might be hearing the buzzing near her bedroom ceiling.

Seeking assistance, Mrs. Class contacted a pest control company, which identified the insects as honeybees¡ªa species protected in the US. Subsequently, they enlisted the help of a beekeeper who observed the insects congregating above Saylor's room in the attic.
"It lit up like Christmas," Massis Class said, describing the thermal camera's findings in Saylor's bedroom walls.
The beekeeper, affectionately dubbed the "monster hunter" by the relieved child, was astounded by the extent of the hive, which extended deeper into the wall than he had ever encountered. Following a trail to a small hole in an attic vent, he carefully opened the wall, revealing a vast honeycomb teaming with life.

According to Mrs Class, the damage caused by the bees amounts to over $20,000. The beekeeper painstakingly removed between 55,000 and 65,000 bees, along with 100lb (45kg) of honeycomb, as reported by BBC.
