Burgers are the most popular fast-food item in the world because they are among the cheap, delicious, easy-to-eat fast foods that are available everywhere. Even in India, you can get a burger for an average price of around Rs 100.

What makes The Golden Boy expensive

The ingredients of the burger include Beluga caviar, king crab, Spanish Paleta Iberico, white truffle, and English cheddar cheese. The bun is made with Dom P¨¦rignon champagne dough and topped with a gold leaf.
The burger comes with a barbecue sauce made with Macallan Single Malt Whisky and Kopi Luwak, one of the costliest coffee beans in the world. It took Veen a total of nine hours to make the burger.
Idea came during lockdown
The Dutch chef and entrepreneur set the Guinness World Record for the most expensive hamburger in June 2021. He made the world's most expensive burger for a noble cause. According to Veen, the idea of creating the world's most expensive burger came to him during the COVID-19 lockdown when his restaurant was closed for dining and was only accepting takeaways. All the money paid for the burger was donated to an NGO that provided food for the needy during the lockdown.

Challenges in creating The Golden Boy
While he was delighted that the burger came out well, Veen admitted that it was not an easy task.
"There were a few challenges, not going to lie about that. But the first big one was: how are we going to make sure that this burger is going to taste awesome? I mean, it's easy to just take a few really expensive ingredients and put them on a burger. But for me, it was very important that the burger also tastes awesome. I wanted to see how far we can go with it, how much we can put into it¡ªand still make sure that the five tastes are in perfect harmony. The second big challenge was to source the ingredients. For example, a few ingredients that are in the burger are normally not available in the Netherlands, but I had great help from my suppliers," he said.
