Police have arrested the suspect in the murder of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, who was shot dead in Manhattan, New York, last week. Authorities have named the suspect as Luigi Nicholas Mangione, a 26-year-old native of Maryland.
Mangione was arrested at a McDonald¡¯s outlet in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after he was identified by one of the employees there, who called 911.

Anti-capitalist
At the time of his arrest, Mangione had what appeared to be a 3D-printed firearm, known as a ¡°ghost gun¡±, and a suppressor on him. Police also found his clothing, including a mask he had worn during the shooting.
According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, writings that indicated ¡°ill will towards corporate America¡± were also found on Mangione when he was arrested.

McDonald's employee face the heat
Meanwhile, there are reports that the McDonald's employee who helped the police arrest Mangione is being targeted online, with some even calling for a boycott of the outlet.
That is because the death of Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, on Wednesday was 'celebrated' online, and the killer, who was unidentified at that point, was hailed as a hero by many.
Why was Thompson's killing celebrated
It was suspected that a disgruntled employee or someone who had their medical insurance claim rejected for trivial reasons¡ªsomething that is a prevalent practice among healthcare providers in the US¡ªmight have committed the murder.
