Woman Throws Out Alexa After It Starts Talking To Her Husband Without Any Prompts

A woman threw the Amazon Alexa device out of her house after it started talking to her husband while she was away, according to a New York Post report. The couple got spooked upon discovering their Alexa device engaging in late-night conversations with the man.
"Super weird" conversations late at night
As per the report, the woman named Jess through a TikTok video narrated the entire incident, stating that she found the smart device constantly speaking to her husband. Taken aback by the strange activities of the device as it continued speaking on its own, Jess called it ¡°super weird.¡±
"This past weekend, I was gone out of town, and the Alexa kept going off, and it kept talking to my husband. He was playing video games at 1 a.m., and he was, like, ¡®This is just super, super weird,'" she said in the video.
The trouble for the couple, however, did not end there. After trying to speak to the woman's husband, Alexa was found to be talking spontaneously without any prompts from the couple.
The unexpected behavior of the Amazon Alexa added to the overall unease, raising concerns about the privacy and autonomy of the smart device in Jess's household.
¡°Now Alexa is officially evicted from our home,¡± Jess said.

According to media reports, the TikTok video went viral and grabbed the attention of many, who also joined the conversation and shared stories of their own. Many shared interesting stories about their Alexa devices, stating that they have found the devices whispering, sending weird messages, or starting conversations on their own.
"I also caught my Alexa at 3 a.m. whispering to my dogs in the kitchen. I thought someone was in the house. I unplugged it," one user said.
"I have them all over my house and we kind of use them for music and timers but I don¡¯t think I¡¯ve ever had anything that weird happen," another user wrote.
As per reports, earlier a California-based man identified as Shawn Kinnear shared that his Amazon Echo suddenly blurted out, ¡°Every time I close my eyes, all I see is people dying.¡± However, after it asked the device to repeat the same, it had no memory of it.
