A Brief, Painful History Of Sreesanth's Political Career [10 Second Read]
You might have missed this amidst all the high profile candidates fighting the elections in TN, Kerala, WB and Assam but there was another, more significant setback today - this time a decisive one. Former Indian speedster S Sreesanth's who had been announced as BJP's candidate from Thiruvananthpuram this March is currently fourth from the seat. A win at this juncture would be equivalent to expecting him to defend a score of 22 runs in the last over of an IPL match - basically it would need a miracle of gigantic proportions.

The 33-year-old spent a huge amount of time over the last couple of months claiming this would be the time BJP would make a decisive entry into Kerala (and it did too). But it was about 70 seats less than what Sreesanth had predicted yesterday (he predicted 71 seats, BJP ended up with 1 - it's first ever seat in the State).
He also took a lot of selfies. Very frequent, annoying selfies with voters. Look at the men on the right, they don't even give a damn.

Sreesanth hoped to use politics to get back to cricket, he announced he would be the first MLA to play for India. Ummm yeah this happened.

Just in case you need a refresher course on his career, his career went downhill after he was arrested in the IPL spot-fixing scandal in 2013. The BCCI handed him a life-ban. Last year, Delhi High Court acquitted him of all charges, but the ban is yet to be overturned.
Here's what Twitter had to say about his political performance:
