After Being Banned For Doping, Prithvi Shaw Is Reportedly Suffering From Depression
It is a setback that we hope doesn't ruin a promising career.
It has been a strange young career so far for the 19-year-old Prithvi Shaw. The stylish opening batsman who is seen as the next big thing in Indian cricket, has been marred by controversy lately.

He made his debut against West Indies last year in September. And what a debut it was. A hundred of highest order on his first bow for the country, thus becoming the youngest Indian to score a Test century. He followed it up with a fifty and an aggregate of 237 runs in the two match series, earning the man of the series award. Injuries have persisted since, and he has been out of action.
But as he was regaining fitness and on path to recovery, news broke out last month that he has been banned for doping. Prithvi Shaw had reportedly tested positive for Terbutaline during the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, and was given a post-dated ban that stretches till November 15.

It came as a big setback to the right-handed opener, and now the Times of India has reported that the ban has effected his mental health. The Thane born batsman, is in depression due to the controversy, and has left for England on personal expenses to get away from it all for now.
It is very disheartening, and for a player seen with a big future like Prithvi Shaw, it doesn't look good. It is a setback that we hope doesn't ruin a promising career.
