Any More Excuses For RCB's Dismal Run In IPL 2019? AB de Villiers Admits They Have Run Out Of Them
RCB are yet to win a game.
On the eve of their match against Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman AB de Villiers feels that his team can be blamed for failures on all fronts but not in commitment.

In his column for the Times of India, de Villiers wrote, "You can criticise our batting, and say we have not been consistent enough. You can criticise our bowling, and say we have not exercised control in critical periods. You can criticise our fielding, and say it has been unquestionably poor. Fair enough; at RCB, we ran out of excuses long ago. However, to be fair, no one should question our commitment. Our training sessions have been intense ever since we launched this demanding campaign a month ago and, at some point, surely, our unstinting efforts will be rewarded."
De Villiers backed his team to not only to break their own losing streak but also the victory run of Punjab at their home ground.

"We have flown to the far north, where we will play Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. They are unbeaten at home in the 2019 IPL, with successive victories over MI, DC and SRH at the IS Bindra stadium, but everything must come to an end sometime. Openers KL Rahul and Chris Gayle are both among the top five run-scorers in the tournament so far, while Mohammed Shami and captain R Ashwin spearhead a well-balanced and highly effective bowling attack. We have had six days to prepare for this game, since the home defeat against DD, and we have worked hard during this break to revive and recalibrate our campaign. Both coach Gary Kirsten and captain Virat Kohli have spoken extremely well, keeping the team energised and focused, keeping us connected and together," de Villiers added.
De Villiers thanked the supporters of his team for standing with them even though they are yet to win a match in this edition.

"Our supporters are justifiably deflated and disappointed, but I look at these RCB players while we are travelling or eating, or just spending time together, and I maintain this is a talented and motivated group, who will come right. Such words are all well and good, but it's actions that will dig us out of this hole. As individuals, we need to embrace the pressure and perform; and, as a unit, we need to bat, bowl and, above all, field with an irresistible hunger and desire. Yes, we have lost six in a row, but we still have eight matches to play; that's eight chances to realise our potential and show what we can do, eight opportunities to put a smile back on the faces of our fantastically loyal supporters," de Villiers signed off.
