Chris Gayle Becomes First Batsman Ever To Reach 10,000 T20 Runs
Guess who's next in line to accomplish the feat?
It's not surprising to see Chris Gayle achieve 10,000 T20 runs. Given his flamboyance, this was long due. Today in an Indian Premier League encounter against Gujarat Lions, the big Jamaican achieved the world record with ease. After all, he was just three runs short of the coveted milestone.

With this feat, he becomes the first batsman to achieve 10,000 runs in the shortest format of the game. He achieves the feat in his 290th match and 285th innings.
The next batsman slated to achieve this record is Brendan McCullum, who is rather 2,500 odd runs behind the landmark score. He is currently at 7524 runs.
