Qualification and format
Unlike previous editions where the top-eight ranked ODI teams automatically qualified, the 2025 edition¡¯s qualification was based on the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. The top eight teams from the 10-team points table, including hosts Pakistan, secured their spots in the tournament.
The competition format is unchanged since 2006 when the tournament adopted an eight-team structure. The teams are divided into two groups of four, with each team playing one match against every other team in its group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, competing for a place in the final.
