Scheduled to begin on January 18, 2025, the tournament will see 16 teams competing for the title. On January 14, the captains assembled at Kuala Lumpur's iconic Petronas Twin Towers, posing alongside the tournament trophy they aspire to lift on February 2.
Defending champions India and hosts Malaysia stood nearest to the trophy, surrounded by the other teams. According to the ICC, India captain Niki Prasad expressed her excitement, saying the event motivates her to bring more glory to her country and replicate what her compatriots achieved two years ago.
