In the final group stage game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 between India and New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on March 2, the Kiwis put pressure on the Men in Blue right from the start. The Black Caps quickly had the Indian team in trouble, sending Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli back to the pavilion in quick succession.
However, it was Kohli's dismissal that became the talk of the town ! all thanks to Glenn Phillips and his exceptional fielding. Even Anushka Sharma ! who flew to Dubai to support her husband in his 300th ODI match ! was left stunned by the incredible catch.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma left in shock
The moment unfolded when Kohli cut the ball hard and flat, sending it flying towards Glenn Phillips' right. Despite picking it up late, Phillips stretched his right hand out and grabbed the ball while he was fully airborne ! practically horizontal to the ground. The ball remained secure even as he hit the turf.
The look on Kohli's face when he realized the catch was taken was priceless ! pure shock. Replays confirmed that Phillips caught the ball cleanly mid-air, leaving Kohli no choice but to walk back to the pavilion for 11 off 14 balls (including 2 fours). It was a moment of pure brilliance, reminiscent of a similar catch Phillips took against Pakistan earlier in the tournament.

About IND vs NZ
As of the latest update, 16 overs were completed, with India at 53/3. Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel were at the crease, working hard to stabilize the innings. The New Zealand bowlers have done an exceptional job of strangling India's run flow.
The pitch appears to be on the slower side, offering little assistance for the batters, while the Black Caps' disciplined bowling has made it difficult for India to find boundaries.
