In the opening game, the hosts secured a dominant six-wicket victory, finishing the chase with 93 balls to spare. Batting first Ireland's Gaby Lewis scored 92 runs, which included 15 boundaries. However, despite her valiant effort, she did not receive much support from the rest of the Irish team. But her 117-run partnership with Leah Paul, who contributed 59 runs helped take the visitors to 238/7 in their 50 overs. Priya Mishra claimed two wickets for India.
