Railways vs Delhi: Fans leave stadium after Virat Kohli's early dismissal on Day 2 of Ranji Trophy clash
Although fans only saw Virat Kohli fielding on Day 1, they were excited to see him bat on Day 2 after Railways were all out for 241 runs. However, their hopes were quickly dashed when Kohli was dismissed cheaply.
It was Virat Kohli's return to the Ranji Trophy after 12 years, and with it, he brought a huge crowd. The Elite Group D clash between Railways and Delhi saw the stadium packed to witness the cricket icon in action. Although fans only saw Kohli fielding on Day 1, they were excited to see him bat on Day 2 after Railways were all out for 241 runs.
However, their hopes were quickly dashed when Kohli was dismissed cheaply. Himanshu Sangwan bowled him out for just six runs, sending Kohli's off-stump cartwheeling right after he had hit the bowler for a boundary.
Fans leave the stadium
The atmosphere at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, turned somber as Kohli departed for just 6 runs, leaving Delhi at 86 for 3. Many disappointed fans started leaving the stands, as the excitement that had built up over the last two days came to an abrupt end.
Fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) also discussed the dismissal, with some noting that at least Kohli didn't edge the ball this time as he did 8 out of the 9 times he batted against Australia.
One fan had said he had said just reached the stadium to witness Kohli batting, but the batter departed early.
