WPL 2025: Full squads of RCB, MI, DC, GG, and UPW ahead of the Valentine's Day tournament kickoff
The five cricket teams!Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and UP Warriorz (UPW)!filled a total of 19 slots, including five for foreign players, at the WPL 2025 mini-auction from a pool of 120 cricketers (91 Indians and 29 overseas players).
The 3rd season of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 is just a week away, and teams are gearing up for the kickoff, which will take place on Valentine's Day!February 14, 2025. Ahead of the tournament, a mini-auction was held, where many young talents earned a spot.
The five cricket teams!Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and UP Warriorz (UPW)!filled a total of 19 slots, including five for foreign players, at the WPL 2025 mini-auction from a pool of 120 cricketers (91 Indians and 29 overseas players). While most teams opted to retain their core groups, they also released a few players to free up funds for the auction and fine-tune their squads.
Injuries and replacements
UP Warriorz (UPW) have signed Chinelle Henry as an injury replacement for Alyssa Healy after the Australian skipper was ruled out of the tournament due to a stress injury in her right foot.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have added Heather Graham and Kim Garth to their squad as replacements for Sophie Devine and Kate Cross. Devine has opted for a break from cricket, while Cross has been sidelined since December due to a back injury. Additionally, England spinner Charlie Dean was previously named as a replacement for the injured Sophie Molineux at RCB.
Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner has been appointed as the captain of Gujarat Giants for WPL 2025, bringing an end to Beth Mooney's two-year tenure as skipper.
