Switzerland defeated world champions France 5-4 on penalties while Spain beat Croatia 5-3 in the last 16 of Euro 2020.
Euro 2020 began to a slow start but on Sunday night, football fans across the world were in for a roller coaster ride after two crazy Round of 16 matches proved why we call football the beautiful game. From Spain beating Croatia 5-3 after extra time and Switzerland dumping out current World Cup champions (3-3 after extra time) 5-4 in penalties, the Euro 2020 has started to pick up space and is peaking at the right time.
However, one particular Switzerland fan, whose picture is going viral on social media, showed the world how football binds everyone.

Switzerland were trailing 2-3 to France and this particular fan grabbed the attention of the camera person. He first seemed distraught seeing his team's imminent departure from the European Championship but when the match entered the final 90th minute, Mario Gavranovic equalised for Switzerland making the score 3-3 and keeping them in the hunt for the quarterfinal. This pivotal moment in the match sent the stadium fans into pandemonium including this fan who yet again caught the camera person's attention. Switzerland eventually emerged victorious.
The picture of contrasting emotions of the fan went viral in no time and people started pouring messages on social media saying how much the game meant to fans.

Switzerland will now take on Spain in the first quarter final of the Euro 2020 on July 2. Belgium will play Italy on July 3 while Czech Republic will be up against Denmark on the same day. The fourth quarter final will be decided after the Round of 16 games between England vs Germany and Sweden vs Ukraine is played. Winners from both these teams will meet each other in the quarters on July 4.
