Fans Go Crazy Watching MS Dhoni Smash A Quickfire Fifty In Last Match As Captain
MS Dhoni hit 40-ball 68 not out for India A against England in Mumbai.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni hammered a 40-ball 68 not out in his last match as captain of an Indian side against England in Mumbai today. Leading the India A side in the first of the two warm-up games, Dhoni reached fifty off just 35 balls as the fans came out in large numbers at the Brabourne Stadium to watch the former India captain take centrestage.

Altogether Dhoni hit 8 fours and 2 sixes and like usual, kept his bet big-hitting for the end. Dhoni into England's fastest bowler Chris Woakes in the final over of the innings and scored 23 runs off it, hitting two fours and two sixes to take India A's total over the 300-run mark. Dhoni recorded his 74th List A fifty which made the crowd at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) venue give him a standing ovation.
While Dhoni was at the crease, one of the spectators found his way to the middle to touch Dhoni's feet, such was the euphoria surrounding MSD at the CCI.

He was soon escorted out of the stadium by the security personnel at the ground.

Yuvraj Singh, who returned to the Indian ODI side after three long years, also made the most of the practice match by scoring 56 off 48 balls that included 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu, who hasn't been considered for the 3-ODI, 3-T20I series against England reminded selectors of his presence in the bench strength by hitting a century off 97 balls (11 fours, 1 six) before retiring out for 100.
Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan looked rusty but helped himself to a List A half-century stroking 63 off 84 balls with 8 fours and 1 six. Dhawan opened the batting with Mandeep Singh who got out for 8. Sanju Samson failed to hit the ground running, getting out for a first-ball zero in the death overs as Hardik Pandya was unbeaten on 4 from 7 balls.
England skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to field. Before the start of play, the Cricket Club of India felicitated Dhoni's contribution as India's captain.
