The Indian young guns entered the final with a 3-1 win over Malaysia, with Dilraj Singh (10th minute), Rohit (45th), and Sharda Nand Tiwari (52nd) finding the back of the net. Kamaruddin Azimuddin (57th) scored a consolation goal for Malaysia.
As for Pakistan, the young boys beat Japan 4-2 in the earlier semi-final to secure their spot in the summit clash. For the Boys in Green, Abdul Hannan Shahid scored a brace, with Ali Basharat and Sufyan Muhammad Khan netted one each.
The Junior Asia Cup will act as the Asian qualifier for the Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, set to be held next year in India. The top six ranked teams, who are not already qualified, will secure their spots.
