India School England At Wankhede, Crush Them By An Innings And 36 Runs
India scored their first Test series win over England in 8 years.
India scripted history at the Wankhede Stadium today by beating England by innings and 36 runs to record their first Test series win over the opponents in eight years. The win ensures India take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five match series with a game to play at Chennai.

Trailing India's first innings' lead by 231, England were all out for 195 as Ravichandran Ashwin took six wickets in each of the innings as India consolidated their No.1 position in ICC Test rankings.
The touring side, who resumed the final day on 182 for six, were only able to add 13 more runs to their total as Ashwin took all four remaining wickets in a little more than half an hour.

The five-wicket haul was the 24th for the world's top-ranked test bowler and his seventh 10-wicket haul, after the 30-year-old also took six wickets in England's first innings. Ashwin now has a total of 247 Test wickets and is in line to become the quickest Test bowler to reach 250 wickets.

Virat Kohli, whose 235 took India to 631 in the first innings, was named man of the match for his monumental knock. He became only the second Indian Test skipper to score 500+ runs in a series after Gavaskar did it twice - against West Indies (732 runs in 1978-79) and vs England (500 runs in 1981-82).
Coach Anil Kumble terms the win as special.
"This is very special, we have lost three tosses. The 200-run stand between Jayant and Virat was exceptional. Ashwin has bowled beautifully throughout the series. He's never happy or satisfied, that's the best part about him. You can't really compare different teams, but this is the No. 1 side in the world. They are exception in their intensity and awareness. Everyone has contributed. This team is certainly special," he said after the win.
