Karun Nair Just Hit His Maiden Test Century And Here's How The Internet Reacted

India's middle order batsman Karun Nair paid rich dividends on the faith bestowed on him by national selectors by scoring his maiden Test century in just his third match. Karun, who has been a heavy run-getter for Karnataka in first-class cricket, reached the milestone today morning in the first session of play against England in the fifth and final Test at Chepauk, Chennai.

Karun came in to bat at the fall of Virat Kohli's wicket yesterday and shared a 161-run stand with KL Rahul who made 199. Since Rahul's departure, Karun has taken centerstage and scored briskly. On the fourth morning, he reached the three-figure mark after driving Ben Stokes behind point for four.

The 25-year-old right hander, born to Malayali parents, has played all of his domestic cricket for Karnataka, the team that won the 2013-14, 2014-15 editions of the Ranji Trophy. Both Rahul and Nair have played a huge role in Karanataka winning back-to-back Ranji Trophy titles.

At lunch on Day 4, Karun had reached 122 off 217 balls with 11 fours and six with Ravichandran Ashwin giving im company on nine. India were just 14 adrift England's first innings' score of 477.
