Paraguay Jail Where Football Legend Ronaldinho Is Housed Set To Host Futsal Tournament
After being imprisoned for fake passport, Prison Holding Football Great Ronaldinho To Host Futsal Tournament
Last week, the Brazil legend Ronaldinho was arrested in Paraguay for allegedly trying to enter the country using a fake passport along with his brother Roberto de Assis Moreira.
At first it seemed as though the pair would be let off with a slap on the wrist after cooperating and telling police they got the passports from businessman and were ready to help the law enforcement in every way possible.
But after a court in Paraguay refused bail and rejected appeals for house arrest, both Ronaldinho and his brother are sharing a cell in Agrupaci¨®n Especializada of the National Police of Paraguay.
And the irony about the whole episode is coincidentally freak, or the best plot ever. Just days after one of the world's greatest
footballers entered the facility, the prison are staging a futsal tournament. Cometh the hour, cometh the man!
Brazilian newspaper Extra say that the competition normally takes place every six months and so was planned prior to Ronaldinho's arrival. Typically there are 194 inmates involved and split into ten different teams.
Well, now the greatest inmate ever, Ronaldinho might bring the glamour and finest skills that were lacking.
The action gets under way soon and while Commissioner Blas Ver isn't expecting the former Barcelona and AC Milan star to ruin everyone, he is hopeful of him turning up to watch.
In Paraguay, the maximum time for the investigation period is six months but Ronaldinho and his brother will be hopeful the process is completed a lot quicker.
