If things go as planned we may soon see pole dancing in the Olympics. No, it's no joke people, it could happen.
The International Pole Sports Federation (IPSF) has submitted an application to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to be recognized as a fully-fledged sport.
The federation currently has 22 members, but the target is to boost that tally up to 40 by the end of 2017.
The World Pole Sports Championships was first held in 2012. This year, it had 150 athletes from 30 countries.
Pole dancing takes immense skill and good body flexibility and there is no reason why it can't be part of the Olympics.
When and if that happens, it will be an evolution in the Games and the crowds will have something new to cheer.
Make no mistake, pole dancers are well trained athletes and what they do requires immense balance, mental and physical toughness.
