Ravi Shastri Insists It's Too Early To Take A Call If MS Dhoni And Yuvraj Singh Shall Be There For 2019 World Cup
Ravi Shastri took over as India coach after Anil Kumble stepped down
Recently, Rahul Dravid said that the selectors must take a call on MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh's future. He kept in mind the 2019 World Cup, which India will be raring to capture under Virat Kohli's captaincy. Now when the current Indian coach Ravi Shastri was asked about the two veteran players' future, he said it is too early to take a call whether they'd be there for the 2019 World Cup.
The head coach said, ¡°2019 is a long way to go. They're two champion cricketers. We will deal with them when the time comes. I will spend time with the captain and take things forward. I've not spoken to him (Virat Kohli).¡±
When he was asked about the entire issue between Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli, he said, ¡°I don't carry baggage, what happened in the past is not my problem. I will start afresh. Whatever I discuss with Virat will stay between him and me."
Both Dhoni and Yuvraj are veteran cricketers who deserve to be in the Indian cricket team for as long as they are fit enough. Hopefully, the Indian cricket team should make the best of their services.
