PV Sindhu, Dipa Karmakar And Pullela Gopichand Get Rousing Receptions After Returning From Rio

PV Sindhu and Dipa Karmakar returned to Hyderabad and Agartala and faced jubilant fans who were overjoyed at the sight of the heroes.

Sindhu won a silver in badminton while Karmakar finished 4th in vault gymnastics.

Amid scenes of jubilation and loud cheers from scores of people, Sindhu, accompanied by coach Pullela Gopichand, was greeted by her parents -- PV Ramana and P Vijaya -- besides Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali, and some ministers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Sindhu waved back the medal and the crowd went wild.

Dipa's return saw a school holiday declared in Tripura. She has already been recommended for the Khel Ratna Award.
