What A Shame That While Athletes Toil Away In Search Of Medals, Officials Party In Rio
While Vijay Goel's selfies with athletes raised questions which forced him to fly back from Rio, it appears he is not the only one.
Raninder Singh, son of CongressĄ¯ chief ministerial candidate in Punjab, Amarinder Singh, and the National Rifle Association of India president is currently in Rio to cheer on the team. But what is he doing while our athletes are struggling to win medals? Partying, yes correct, partying.
Abhay Singh Chautala, son of former Haryana Chief Minister, OP Chautala joins him in the list. The man is out on bail after being probed in a disproportionate assets case. Even the judge is confused by the Rio trip as he did not take the necessary permission required.
Haryana's Sports Minister Anil Vij is also in Rio to support the 'Haryana Athletes'. But what are the members of his contingent doing? Chilling on the Rio beaches.

So not only do they forget the names of our athletes, they don'e even stand in their corner. We have no medals till now, but that does not mean an effort is not being put in. The conduct of the officials reflects just how much interest they have in how we fare at the Games.
It's a shame on us if we cannot stand by those looking to do India proud on the big stage.
