Elavenil Valarivan competing in women¡¯s 10m Air Rifle Event showed no qualms about the tournament being her first at senior level, as she beat Seonaid Mcintosh of Britain to claim the top honour.
Elavenil shot 251.7 in the finals to help India extend their newly found dominance in the event. India has now won three out of four gold medals in the women¡¯s 10m Air Rifle this year.

Elavenil was dishing out a master-class with a series of high 10s, but it still went down right to the wire. Seonaid and Elavenil battled hard, but it was the Indian who prevailed for a milestone win.
What a start to the senior career for young Elavenil. She sure is destined for even bigger things.
We hope it¡¯s just one of the many medals she wins for India.
