Taking to Twitter, he said that the BCCI should donate 1000 crore rupees as relief to the drought-affected areas as it would not be a huge loss of money for them.
Modi went on to say how the Rajasthan Cricket Association has contributed toward helping the victims.
Even as the Indian Premier League got underway amid threats to shift matches out of Maharashtra, the former IPL chairman was quick to say that he would do everything in his power to assist those in need.
The Bombay High Court had slammed the organisers for thinking of the matches ahead of human life as a lot of water is expected to be wasted on grounds and pitches during the course of the tournament.
Modi urged the BCCI to show its humane side come out in support of the farmers and villagers who have lost a lot in the drought. He added that he will donate his share of the profits.
