This Is How Sportspersons Around The World Are Dealing With Coronavirus Lockdown
With the sports world put on hold as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, people all over the globe are dealing with the new reality of social distancing and self-isolation.
Sportspersons are not immune to either the virus or the difficulties of quarantine and so, like the rest of us, they have been forced to find ways to occupy themselves during this unexpected break.
Here¡¯s what some of the stars have been upto.
1. Cristiano Ronaldo
The Portugal ace was given the green light by his club to return to his hometown of Madeira before one of the worst hit European countries Italy went on lockdown.
At his home, Ronaldo shared an adorable (and informative) video on his Instagram Stories of himself teaching his kids how to wash their hands effectively. Acting as instructor, with three of his kids in high chairs, Ronaldo gave them a demonstration on how to properly rub your hands together with hand sanitiser.
Ronaldo, alongside his agent, has also donated €1 million (?920,000/$1.08m) to three intensive care units in Portugal in the ongoing battle against Covid-19.
2. Lionel Messi
Messi shared a wholesome Instagram post of himself at home with two of his children in March, stressing the importance to remain indoors and to enjoy the time with your family and loved ones ¨C and that health always comes first.
Messi also donated €1m to Hospital Clinic in Barcelona with the aiming of caring for patients and researching the virus.
3. Virat Kohli
The Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is spending quality time with his wife Anushka Sharma. The two have been posting videos regularly asking people to stay at home and protect their families.
Anushka Sharma also posted a video of her giving Virat Kohli a haircut in quarantine.

In the video, Virat says, "This is what quarantine does to you, you allow things like these to happen, getting a haircut with the kitchen scissors." The video ends with him saying, "Beautiful haircut, by my wife."
4. Roger Federer
As sporting action has come to a halt due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer on Monday was seen practicing a few of his trademark trick shots.
Federer posted a small video on Twitter in which the 20-time Grand Slam winner can be seen executing trick shots against a wall in the snow.
The 38-year-old captioned the post as: "Making sure I still remember how to hit trick shots #TennisAtHome".

Earlier this year, Federer had undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. He has been recovering well and will be hoping to be back soon.
5. Stan Wawrinka
It's been hard not to notice Stan Wawrinka crushing the social media game in 2020. With life being flipped upside down in the past few weeks, gone are his sunsets and abs photos for a more isolated (and indoor) lifestyle.
Stan Wawrinka knows exactly what we are going through. The 34-year-old is doing his part to stop the spread of coronavirus, and increase the spread of positive vibes, and we are here for it.
