Samsung's New Galaxy S9 Is Basically A Better Camera In A Slightly Newer Package Than The S8
Samsung has finally announced the eagerly awaited Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus at the Unpacked 2018 event ahead of this year&rsquos Mobile World Congress MWC. The differences in the new flagships are very subtle with small changes in the hardware and most of it focused on the upgraded camera. The devices are expected to launch in India by early March with pre-bookings open on the Samsung store.
Samsung has finally announced the eagerly awaited Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus at the Unpacked 2018 event ahead of this year¡¯s Mobile World Congress (MWC). And for those of you who are still fans of the Galaxy S8, you¡¯re going to find it all very familiar.
The differences in the new flagships are very subtle, with small changes in the hardware, and most of it focused on the upgraded camera. Aside from that¡¯s it¡¯s almost your same old Galaxy S8 and 8 Plus.
The Galaxy S9 features the same 5.8-inch QHD+ (2960x1440) curved Super AMOLED display, with a 6.2-inch display on the S9 Plus. Both pack a 2.7GHz Samsung Eynos 9810 processor (in India) with 4GB and 6GB RAM on the S9 and S9 Plus respectively. Both devices have 64GB/128GB?256GB variants, expandable up to 400GB and Android 8.0 out-of-the-box. The S9 has a 3000mAh battery, with a 3500mAh battery on the S9 Plus.
On the camera front this time, the S9 has a 12MP dual pixel shooter with a variable aperture. The S9 Plus meanwhile sports a dual camera setup; a dual pixel 12MP wide angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens. Both devices have the same 8MP selfie camera as last year.
In the US, the Galaxy S9 is priced at $719.99 (approximately Rs. 46,600) and the S9 Plus at $839.99 (approximately Rs. 54,400). The devices are expected to launch in India by early March, with pre-bookings open on the Samsung store for a Rs 2,000 down payment.
